COMO HOUSE EXCURSION

September14

OUR EXCURSION TO COMO HOUSE

On Friday 4th September, we went to Como House. We came to school like children from the olden days. Then we got on the bus. When we arrived we ate our playlunch. Our two olden day teachers met us, their names were Janine and Mark. We went in three groups to do the activities. The activities were visiting the mansion, solving a mystery and being servants.

In the mansion we learnt how to do ballroom dancing. James and Miss Hannett danced together. Giovanni and Mrs Upton danced together.

We had to solve an olden day mystery” Who broke the doll?” We had a piece of paper with the guest names and found clues around the large gardens.

We learnt some jobs the servants do. First we listened to the sound of the different bells, next serving the wine to the guests and last of all doing the laundry. Next lunch-time!

The last activity was playing olden day games. The first game was skipping to ”Cinderella, dressed in Yellow!” Then we played tug of war with a big rope. The first round the girls won. The second round the boys won. Next we played “Drop the Hankie.” We had an egg and spoon race and Richard dropped the egg. Luckily the egg didn’t crack open. After that we could choose to play our own game. The games we could play were quoits, skipping, hot potato and croquet.

It was time to go back to school. We said goodbye to Janine and Mark. We were so tired, but happy because we had a great day!!
